DULUX DON at Grewgrass Lodge

Well, how is this for a famous visitor to Grewgrass Lodge. The world famous 'DULUX' Old English Sheepdog Don and his owners, Alan and Maureen Pearson from Oldham came to stay for this week. An absolute dream. We got his pawprint autograph!!

Summer arrives at Grewgrass!

Today, longest day of the year, great sun, flowers in full bloom. Pond is starting to geen up and the lodges are looking wondefully summery !!

Gladiator Jet at Grewgrass Lodge

Had a great evening! Ex Gladiator JET aka Diane Youdale and Neil Green from BBC Radio Tees came for a visit to see our life at Grewgrass. Had a fantastic couple of hours and they recorded their visit here, spoke to our lovely guests from Rotherham and Grantham.

Hello again !

Just got back from holiday, again, Sharm el Sheik in Egypt. Great weather, shame about the food and the Russians! but that's another story!!!

All is well here at Grewgrass Lodge, pond extension is nearly completed, just have to seed the pond surround and its done, just have to keep the chickens off the seeded areas! My old schoolteacher, Quentin, caught his best Roach ever, 1lb 12 ounces! (see photo), our pond also holds a seven ounce Gudgeon, British record is 9 ounces! Also, on an earlier session, our Guest from Lincoln caught our 5lb Ghost Carp

Guests are still plentiful here and they are having a lovely relaxing time, I even took a Lincoln City supporter to the Riverside to watch Middlesbrough V Aston Villa, we need all the help we can get now!!

Paul O'Grady show, London

We also managed a trip to the London Studios where I managed to get hold of some tickets to see Paul Ogrady on his daily show, myself Christine and her mum Joan, had a fantastic time, well recommended.

POND extension !

Hi all ! Our pond extension has been underway over the past couple of weeks, more room for more fish. A local pond owner came up the other day, he had a 8 and a half pound Ghost carp which had grown too big for his pond, duly asked if it could move home so I duly obliged !

Winter Wonderland at Grewgrass Lodge !

Well, the snow fell and covered us all here at Grewgrass, that was Monday ! Now its Tuesday night and its all gone with bright sunshine forecast.

Christine, Gemma and myself have just returned from a few days in London and a day in Bighton on the pier!! It was blooming freezing down there! Had a great time visiting, it was Christines 21st birthday ( she wishes ), had dinner at a really nice Italian in Sydenham.

Bruce had too much to drink though !

Chickens are really doing well despite the dark and dank weather, now getting over 110 eggs a day.

Good Evening All !

Happy New Year to all our visitors past, present and (hopefully) future !

Today Sunday, our hens are now laying regularly, we are getting nearly 100 eggs per day! Thats one bloody big omelette, good for you though. They're still going at £2 a doz, cheaper than the shops and very fresh!

Today we have been to Whitby and been on a cruise ! YES ! A cruise, took me back a bit to when I was sailing ............. anyway, this was the River Esk in Whitby Harbour, blooming cold but we watched some seals frolicking and had a nice cup of Cappucino and Latte on the harbourside.

Now its back home, lock up the girls safe and sound, put the coal fire on, feet up etc etc.
